What a difference a day makes!

Callie was extubated (sp?) Wed. night at 5:30 pm. It was a very nervous time for Mom & Dad, but with a little TLC & heliox (helium w/oxygen) she has done well & not had to be intubated again. We're so grateful! She kept throwing off the helium mask, so the Respiratory Tech decided she'd take it off & see how Callie does without it! So far so good. The helium (yes, she sounded like donald duck when she coughed!) is supposed to make the oxygen "more slippery" in her little swollen airway.

Thanks again to ALL for EVERYTHING!!! We are so BLESSED & GRATEFUL!!!
